Since 2015, I've been teaching informal, fun yoga classes in and around Hemel Hempstead. I teach general Hatha yoga classes, pregnancy and postnatal, and children's classes in local schools. I strongly believe that yoga is for Every Body: regardless of age, level of mobility and level of fitness we can all benefit from a regular practise.
I trained and qualified as a yoga teacher with the British Wheel of Yoga and undertook additional training in pregnancy, postnatal and children's yoga.
I started writing relaxation scripts and yoga stories during Lockdown in 2020 and am the author of the following books:
Red Kites, Apples and Blood Cells: Imaginative Relaxations for Lively Kids - illustrated by Ben and Steph Grandis
Once Upon a Time, You... A Yoga Adventure where you choose what happens!
Once Upon a Time, You... A Chair Yoga Adventure where you choose what happens!
Goldfinches, Daffodils and Sunshine: More Imaginative Relaxations for Lively Kids - illustrate by Ben and Steph Grandis
My books are self-published and printed by a local, family-run printer, Hemel Creative Print.
"I find this meditation book really helps me when I feel worried. I have trouble sleeping as I have ADHD and read a meditation most nights. I even read it in the morning to help me calm down. I love the one where you imagine your favourite smells but all of the meditations are great. From Ricardo, age 10."
"Maria’s ideas are witty and original ... We all love to be told a story and with this book it’s not just kids at bedtime who will benefit." Claire Plastow, Spectrum Magazine (British Wheel of Yoga)
