Christmas Fundraising for Dacorum Emergency Night Shelter

When I started teaching yoga, I knew that I wanted to use my position as a small business owner to give to my community. So I like to fundraise whenever I can.

Dacorum Emergency Night Shelter (DENS) is our local Homelessness charity and food bank. I ran yoga classes in their centre at The Elms a few years ago and got to work first hand with some of the people they were supporting at the time. Every Christmas I like to raise money for them.

This is how you can help me raise money for them! There are three ways!

I'm raffling a set of all four my books, plus a tote bag and cute frog keyring! You will get...

  • Red Kites, Apples and Blood Cells: Imaginative Relaxations for Lively Kids

  • Goldfinches, Daffodils and Sunshine: More Imaginative Relaxations for Lively Kids

  • Blue Penguins, Bells and Open Skies: Even More Imaginative Relaxations for Lively Kids

  • Once Upon a Time, You... a Yoga Adventure where you choose what happens! (choose between Chair Yoga or Mat Yoga)

They make GREAT Christmas presents!!! So if you don't want them yourself, maybe win them for a child or a local school!

How to Enter:

So that DENS get as much funding as possible, I'm not selling tickets myself!

  1. Make a donation directly to DENS (include Gift Aid if you're a UK tax payer)

  2. Send me a screen shot or forward your confirmation email to

  3. You will get one entry per donation - no matter how big or small your donation is.

  4. If you want more than one entry, you will need to make more than one donation - how about spreading your donations out?

  5. The prize draw will take place on Friday 16th December and posted out the same day (last posting date for First Class to make allowances for postage strikes).

I'm donating 50p per Christmas card to DENS. They are £2 each or three for £5.

What makes these cards special?

They include a relaxation script inside!

I took three of my most Wintry relaxation scripts (from Goldfinches) and the illustrations by Ben and Steph Grandis, and turned them into Christmas cards!

If you live in Hemel Hempstead, you may recognise the Pick up your Poop Poster on one of them from the Box Moor Trust estate - it was designed by my son many years ago!

Buy your Mindful/Relaxation Christmas Cards here! But be quick, supplies are getting low!

I'm donating 20% of book sales to DENS if purchased by the 16th December!

I now have three books of relaxation scripts for children, and a yoga book which you can buy as a Mat Yoga or a Chair Yoga version!

There are also multibuy deals so you can get some brilliant bargains.

Have a look at my Children's Book shop here! There are also ebooks and audio files for immediate download.

Shop Small, Shop Local this Christmas

Just a quick note to remind you that small is beautiful and means that your money stays in the local economy rather than funding a billionnaire's next space mission. I am lucky that a number of small businesses support me and they also stock beautiful items by other small businesses. Please have a look at...

Hill Farm Barn (Christmas market until the 12th December)

Creative Collective Pop Ups - various pop ups in and around Berkhamsted

Wild Raven Farm Shop - beautiful farm shop near Aylesbury

Open Door Berkhamsted - community and art space

Coffee & Wine - Boxmoor and Hemel Old Town
